Entry Apps with multiple profit taking position management

I have designed a couple of useful Apps which allow you to enter a position either immediately with a market entry order or via defined entry price level of a Stop Entry or Limit Entry order, where the exit management is afterwards fully automated by the App.

These Apps allow a trader to focus on the essential, namely finding the right entry, and leaving the entire profit taking and risk management to the App, which removes the "emotional attachment" to the trade.

The Apps allow for multiple take profit limit levels with StopLoss adjustments through Break-Even and following limit levels, for arbitrary number of limit levels. A separate Break-Even Stop move at a defined profit level without scaling out the position is a further option.
Also, popular Trailing Stop methods are optionally available, where the last limit level is left open.

Attached are Stop Entry Apps, one with a double-stage profit taking position management, and another one which uses an ATR-based Stop Trailing for the second partial position, which leaves the second limit level void.

These type of Apps are useful for breakout strategies, for example.

Otherwise, the same principles apply as outlined in above first post with regard to the automatic position management used in the Market Entry Apps.

Attached are two examples for Limit Entry Apps, one with a double-stage profit taking position management, and another one which uses an Parabolic-SAR-based Stop Trailing for just one entire position, where you have the choice of a defined Break-Even Stop Move still, but which leaves the first limit level void.


These types of Apps are useful for trend-following, where you want to buy at the next possible low and sell at the next possible high.

The former Entry Apps had risk management options to calculate the position size as a percentage of the available account equity, balance, or margin.

A new risk management option has been added, which is to use a percentage of a "Discounted Balance".
The discounted balance is simply the account balance minus the maximum possible loss of all open positions of the account.

Hence, this is a more conservative risk management for traders who work with a larger number of open positions at the same time and provides for the most realistic risk scenario, since all possible losses are acccounted for when calculating the available money to trade with.

Attached are two examples with a temporary license key to try out.

New release of Entry Apps:

Three Entry Apps, which define their respective type of position entry: Market Entry App, Stop Entry App, and Limit Entry App.

Increased position management flexibility in one App: Define 1 - 10 profit taking limit levels. Chose optional trailing stop in addition.

Improved Performance and robustness: Rock-solid protection against network failures and PC crashes with protective stop and limit bracket order. Continuation of position management at re-connect, also over weekends.

Additonal risk management Option: Percentage of discounted balance to determine position size, which takes into account maximum risk of all open positions of your account.

Improved Trader Intervention: Manual Stop Adjustments are checked by the App, the App will only set more favourable stop price levels according to the position management scheme.

Optional Slippage Compensation: For Stop Entry and Limit Entry App, slippage of entry price can be compensated for both StopLoss and Limit levels.

I have added the capability to backtest the Apps in the MarketScope Strategy Backtester.

Originally, the Apps were only designed for live trading. With the new backtesting capability, it is easier to verify the functionality of the multi-stage position exit management.

For this purpose, there is a new user input called 'Backtest', which is by default set to 'No' for live trading mode. For conducting a backtest, this user input parameter must be set to 'Yes'!

The demo license strings of the recent post are still valid.

The new integrated Entry App is now available.



This App allows to chose the entry type (market entry, stop entry, or limit entry), the number of partial profit Levels (1 - 10), and optional trailing stop for the last limit stage.



There are also further improvements for the robustness against network connection losses of the trading platform before a conditional entry opens a position and after a position close, thus spanning the entire time from App start until App close no matter the entry type chosen.
