BSDs

Hello,

I am exploring my options. I am increasingly dissatisfied with Linux at the moment. The Systemd mess. I am possibly looking at moving to one of the BSDs. I have been working with the C++/C Linux APIs. I know I could use the Java APIs on the BSDs. But I wanted to ask about the potential of C++/C being available on one or more of the BSDs. FreeBSD and/or NetBSD.

I know BSD users would by far be a minority. Maybe of one. I don't know how difficult it would be to add support for the BSDs. Or if it even worth your effort. But I just thought I would throw this thought out there into the arena of ideas.

If not, as I said, Java is still available.

Thanks.

Jimmie

Hello,

I don't know where you are in your decision making process. But on my behalf, I have decided to stay with Linux. I installed FreeBSD, did a few things. Decided I would put up with the current and hopefully brief issues with Linux that I am having on my development laptop.

Thanks.

Jimmie

So that the readers of this thread know what the decision is.

Not at this time. Possibly in the future.
