directional real volume indicator doesn't work in strategy

Postby jetaro » Mon Nov 07, 2016 3:10 pm

I've been trying to use the directional real volume indicator from fxcmapps in a strategy but it appears it doesn't have any external streams. I wrote to FXCM and they claim I should be able to use it. Can anyone confirm this? I think what shows this cannot work in a strategy is if you add the indicator to an existing (completed) backtest chart it doesn't show up.

Unfortunately,
In my experience, FXCM volume indicator do not have any outputs.
Do not use the stream as output.

ok thanks Apprentice, that's what I thought. Hopefully the people at FXCM can fix that.

this is what he told me:

Thank you for contacting our programming services team. There are no restrictions against using the Directional Real Volume indicator in a Lua strategy you are coding. If you are an independent developer looking for coding assistance, you should direct your questions to the forums on FXCodeBase:
