"Notify me upon replies by default"

Hello folks,

I put a tick on "Notify me upon replies by default" cause I want to be notified on every reply I got but no mail seems to be coming to my mailbox on post reply. Is this the expected feature of this setting or I'm doing something wrong here ?

I don't have an "Unnotify" link in any threads. They all say "Notify", and when I click it, it offers to notify me of replies.

Thanks - this is really weird. I can't set notify on for that one thread.
